Hi John,
Thanks for the thoughts. I often catch up on your writings, but too seldom comment, although deeply moved on varied levels.

Lately I have been moving into more of a listening prayer posture rather than talking so much...which is quite a feat for me :) I recently participated in 7 prayer gatherings across the State, each appproximatley 3 hours in lenght. I have to admit, for me, the constant talking to God loudly in an audience of 30-70 people in one room was more of a distraction than effectual, at least in evaluating my contribution to these meetings.

I found myself in one of the gatherings moving further and further away from the group that soon I was in a nursery that was adjacent to the gathering place. I just had to find a place quiet enough to hear from God. For me, the louder our world, the greater the intensity of voices, the more my soul longs not so much for quietness, as for His quiet voice to speak to me. Maybe it is where I am in my life, but what I am hearing back is awesome and varied. Sometimes it is just, "I love you son;" other times He talks to me about passive agreements that I have made with the Enemy over the course of my life; at other times he has simply given me a word about a situation; at times he has directed me to specific Scripture passages that have wowed me.

Not that I don't believe in the power of agreement, nor the gifts of the Holy Spirit in corporate, or even community settings...both I have given and received benefit; just a growing desire in me to just "be" with my Savior.

Love you John. Look forward to the next time I can sit down with you in the cabin...I promise to listen more than talk :)
