A ministerial-life coach, John has served a variety of roles on his life journey. He holds a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree, a Master of Arts (MA) degree in Community Education & Resource Development as well as an Education Specialist Degree (Ed.S) in Leadership & Administration from Appalachian State University in Boone, North Carolina. John is an ordained minister and attends Winston-Salem First, where he has served as an Executive Associate, Consultant and of late, two terms on the Board of Deacons.
He is married to LaDonna Bost, an interior designer, and has one daughter, Summer Bost, an Assistant Principal with the WSFC Schools.
He serves on the board of Assembly Terrace; a church sponsored non-profit offering affordable housing for seniors, as well as, a two term appointment with the Ten Year Plan to End Chronic Homelessness.
He has served two four-year terms on the Winston-Salem/Forsyth County Planning Board; served on the boards of various Early Childhood initiatives; the Infant Mortality Coalition; Reynolda Rotary, as well as being actively involved in several Community Development Corporations.
He is a previous chairman of Leadership Winston-Salem, the former three term Mayor of Clemmons, NC. And currently serves as Vice Chair of the Clemmons Community Foundation.
An entrepreneur, John is licensed with the N.C Real Estate Commission and the Department of Insurance, owner of Master Counsel and Associates, Inc., and co-founder of three other start-up companies.
